There is no denying the fact that the SARS-Cov-2 virus and the COVID-19 disease it causes has changed our lives in ways we never could have imagined. Never again will we take our health for granted. We also realized our priorities and the sacrifices we were willing to make for our loved ones. We are in a continuously evolving battle with this disease and with more failures than successes, we have still to find the winning formula to win this war. Our lack of mass testing and containment failure has been the major factors for not slowing down transmission. With increasing numbers of infected people, Filipinos are just praying that a vaccine will soon be developed that will awaken them from this pandemic nightmare and will return them to the lives they once knew. But until that time comes, we must adapt and find ways to become functional from a socio-economic perspective. We must learn to live and outwit this virus that preys on human beings as their hosts. This behavioral modification is the only way we can continue to survive and proliferate as a species. This will at least put us on a road to normalcy, albeit something that we might not be used to. The following are guidelines on what these “New Normal” should be to keep us safe and healthy. Remember that this is a battle for our lives!
